Rascal

Email from Vicky G. - Sorry it took so long to send you pictures. I had to pry the digital camera away from my sister. Anywho, Rascal is doing great. He had sneezes after I brought him home, and is now finishing an antibiotic (which he hates). I took him in on Monday and he got a shot, and in less than a month he went from 2.8 lbs to 3.6 lbs!

He has adapted to life here very well, although he didn't know what to think of Bear his first day. By day two, Bear was giving him a bath, and they are pretty much inseparable now. His gray hair is getting lighter, but he still has the black stripe down his back. He likes to sleep on my night stand in the corner, so I folded up one of my pillows and that is now his mattress.

Below are pictures of him playing with Bear, him playing on the landing in our house (there is a pink catnip mouse behind him that cannot be seen), him sleeping on my niece's chair (his nap spot), and a picture of him and Bear by themselves. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my boys! -----
We did Vicky!

Lily

We received a nice email (with photos) from Lily's new family...

Well, Kay, it is Lily's two month anniversary with us. She is really becoming a family member. During the evening she sits on the back of my lazy boy and watches us go about our business. I bought a super soft towel from Petco that goes on the top where she sits for easy cleaning.

Lily, doing the laundry?I bought her a toy fishing pole with a stuffed mouse on the end. We have tons of fun playing with it with her. She loves to jump at the mouse and gets quite high off the ground. She and Rose have a game now. Lily stalks Rose, dive-bombs her tail, and before Rose can react Lily run away and goes FLYING up the steps. If Rose runs after her, Lily comes RUNNING down the steps leaving poor Rose in the dust! If is so funny to see. I think it is good for Rose to. Heaven knows she can use all the exercise she can get!

Now she seeks us out and purrs and wants to be petted. She jumps on my lap while I type on my computer and sits on the tower and watches me. She grooms Rose on the head and face but still refuses to allow Rose to groom her. Lily is finally happy which is all I ever wanted for her. JULE

Beauregard

Beau & SisterBeauregard, a creamy St. Bernard and Shar Pei mix, along with his sister were abandoned. An Amish family took care of them until Heart of Michigan was called to get them both vet care and a good home. Big puppies at only 12 weeks, we could only imagine how big these two would get growing into adults.

Beau's FamilyWell, Beauregard's new owners, Chelsea and Dave, sent us a nice email to fill us in. "I hope you enjoy seeing how cute he is and how big he is getting! Actually, we do not think that he will be too big, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see." Oh we think he will stay small...about as small as a small pony! Chelsea continues by writing, "He is very well mannered and we love him VERY much! He and Cricket are best buddies and they play together all day and night. Everywhere we go people always stop to pet Beau and ask about his background."

We, here at HOMAR, already know about his background and like to hear now only his present situation and it seems to be wonderful. We thank his new family for updating us and giving Beau such a happy and healthy future.
